The fish must have known it was the last week for the Fall Open and they responded like gangbusters. All anglers who made time in their busy schedules to visit the ponds were rewarded with at least one fish. Here's the creel counts for the week:

The Week in Fishing - August 13th

If only the fishing was as hot as the weather last week. Despite the heat, five anglers managed to wet their lines two days last week before the heat and humidity forced them indoors. Here's the summary:

The anglers went back to old faithful (MI-10) and the fish were biting and jumping. Both Tim and Steve were rewarded with a single fish. Chuck managed three fish on the hook and one on the shore. Alas, it was not to be. Ask him about it.Here's the creel count:

Fall Open Has Begun!

Yes the 2010 Fall Open Segment started on July 1st, but it took 12 days before fishing began. Chuck started off the segment on Monday with a 2 lb 0 oz bass and Andrew followed right on his heels on Wednesday with his own 1 lb 3 oz fish. But such frivolity just serves to incense your defending champion who set the bar at 3 lb 1 oz. With fishing set to continue through September 3rd and historically fishing waning as the heat continues, the remaining anglers had better hit the ponds.

Award Ceremony Pictures

The award ceremony/pizza party was held at lunch today for the 2010 Spring Open and Team Invitational Tournament. As a reminder, Tim repeated as the 2010 Spring Open Champion with a 4 lb 3 oz largemouth bass and the Bass Assassins (Tim and Ron) wrestled away the 2010 Team Invitational Championship away from the 2nd place Carp Pros (Merle and Steve).
